Kryss

Originally designed in 1975 by Swedish designer Björn Hultén for the Swedish Embassy in Cairo, the Kryss Collection is a timeless expression of Scandinavian design and craftsmanship. Inspired by ancient Egyptian folding chairs dating back over 3,000 years, Kryss combines history, elegance and exceptional comfort.

Crafted from solid teak with distinctive leather details and premium fabrics, the collection brings together natural materials and refined functionality. Available in Agora, Sunbrella and recycled Sunbrella Heritage fabrics, Kryss is designed for lasting comfort and timeless appeal.

Sunbrella Heritage contains 50% recycled material, giving each piece a unique, subtly textured appearance with natural variations in colour and character.

Björn Hultén

Björn Hultén is one of the most celebrated names in Swedish furniture design. He past away in 2008 but his legacy very much lives on through everything he designed, including almost 200 chairs! Two of which we make here at Skargaarden. H55, designed for the Helsingborg Exhibition in 1955, and Kryss; designed in 1975 for the (then new) Swedish Embassy in Cairo. Björn Hultén was also a professor at the School of Design and Crafts at the University of Gothenburg.
